Donard Methodist Church is a community of people drawn together who want to worship the risen Christ and serve their local community with Christ’s love and compassion.

beliefs & values

We believe that all can have a personal faith in Jesus who can restore our relationship with God. Founded by John Wesley hundreds of years ago Methodists believe that salvation from sin can only come through faith in Christ but that true faith will show itself in a love for the people in the community worked out through social action.

Sometimes our core beliefs are remembered by John Wesley’s ‘Four Alls’

ALL PEOPLE NEED TO BE SAVED

Everyone needs Jesus – we were made for relationship with God

ALL PEOPLE CAN BE SAVED

Everyone and anyone can come to know Jesus – no one is outside of God’s love and grace.

ALL PEOPLE CAN KNOW THAT THEY ARE SAVED

Everyone can live rooted in deep relationship with Jesus – the Spirit witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God.

ALL PEOPLE CAN BE SAVED TO THE UTTERMOST

Everyone can grow in faith – there is no limit to what the grace of God can do in us.
